Samsung Jet launched in India

MUMBAI: Samsung has unveiled its new smartphone, Samsung Jet in India. Samsung has combined the enhanced features of a smartphone and the user friendly interface of a conventional mobile handset in its new full touch mobile smartphone.

The handset boasts of world firsts in both display technology and speed of performance. Its 16M WVGA amoled display (3.1-inch) provides with colourful and vivid touch. The WVGA screen provides a resolution that is four times higher than a WQVGA screen, it claims. The integrated 800MHz application processor enhances speed and performance.

Samsung's latest TouchWiz 2.0 user interface gives an unrivalled user experience and includes iconic new features, such as motion UI, smart unlock and customizable widget screen. Users can enjoy speed dialing by tapping, tilting or flipping the handset due to motion recognition engine called motion gate. Additionally, the 3D media gate enables easy access to the multi media features such as photo album, music Player, FM radio, games and internet.

Samsung's Dolfin Internet browser is designed to let users surf the net and access popular websites, especially social networking sites. The browser enables users to view up to five web pages simultaneously and bookmark their favourite websites as widgets on the phone's homepage. A built in ad-blocker, multiple downloading and background downloading feature, and multi-purpose address field, further enhance the experience; while Dolfin's one finger zoom enables users to zoom in and out of web pages using only one hand.

The A-GPS application helps find a destination by displaying real-time information and directions in 3D form. This is made possible with the incorporated GPS on Google maps, 3D Map navigations and location based services. It also comes with a geotagging feature and a compass. Using the Geo-magnetic sensor one can send location information and updates on traffic condition via SMS. This A-GPS activation provides link information during navigation   

The handset also boasts a host of multimedia features including a 5 mega-pixel camera and built-in GPS. The DNSe & SRS Sound Effect technology, offers advanced sound quality while DivX and XviD support trouble free viewing and downloading of videos.

Samsung Jet will be available in India in the last week of June for a price of Rs 24,150.
