Sony rolls out new home theater system

MUMBAI: Sony has announced the launch of HT-IS100 Bravia Micro Home Theater System. This system includes five small golf ball sized speakers. This audio and video system offers a good surround sound experience.

It includes three 1080p HDMI inputs that offer repeater functionality and supports eight uncompressed audio channels. It also provides an option to add wireless rear surround speakers that configure without any hassles. It has a 5.1 channel system with 450 watts (RMS) of power and a subwoofer with 32-bit S-Master digital amplifier.

"Consumers want a cinema-like surround system in their homes, but are hesitant to add large equipment that overpowers the d©cor," says Sony electronics Digital Imaging and Audio Division director of marketing Tyler Ishida. "The HT-IS100 packs all the power of a conventional home theater system in five discreet speakers that practically disappear in your living room," he adds.It also features Sony's S-AIR technology which enables one to listen to music throughout with the S-AIR station speakers which are sold out separately. Television audio as well as music can be transmitted from main system to multiple rooms just by connecting the Air station into a power outlet.

The system also features Sony's digital media port that offers options like control networking and connectivity for music playback.

The HT-IS100 system is priced at $700 and will be available in July at all Sony outlets.
