T Mobile unveils myTouch 3G Fender

MUMBAI: T Mobile has launched myTouch 3G Fender, a limited edition smartphone with a handset made by HTC, which will hit the markets on 20 January.

One of the USPs of the smartphone is the exclusive Eric Clapton tunes it would carry, with the Fender guitarist an active partner in the product. He will also unveil the smartphone in the nationwide campaign that will begin on January 20.

The smartphone will carry Eric Clapton classics like Layla, My Father's Eyes, Rock �N' Roll Heart and Wonderful Tonight. Apart from this, it would also feature content from Avril Lavigne, Brad Paisley and Wyclef Jean. It would also have Android music applications like Guitar: Solo and Musical Light and will allow users to toggle between different views or change a song or album by touching album art. t also allows customers to create ringtones from songs that are playing. New accessories including new Fender-branded shells, a Fender carrying case and Fender screen protector as well as Rock Dock with Speakerphone will also be available.

It has a custom designed back plate with a Fender like finish, 3.5mm headset jack, a 16GB memory card and free access to doubleTwist music sync software. An installer for doubleTwist will be included on the device so that users can easily sync their music, images, and videos to & from their computer.

T Mobile vice president product development Andrew Sherrard said, The myTouch 3G, which runs on Android, gives us an open, highly customizable platform to create truly unique experiences that go beyond what's possible on proprietary platforms. The new limited edition myTouch is a perfect example of this innovation and personalization and we are excited to bring our customers this special limited edition, feature-rich, music-inspired device....

The device will cost $179.99 (plus taxes and fees) with a new two-year service agreement and qualifying voice and data plan.
