Verizon Wireless launches Samsung Trance mobile phone

Verizon Wireless has introduced Samsung's latest offering dubbed as the Trance mobile phone. This device caters to music lovers as it boasts of advanced audio quality by Bang & Olufsen's ICEpower amp.

This sleek phone is a high-powered music device with touchpad navigation enabled. The Trance is available in two hues namely piano black and electric red. Music enthusiasts are sure to be bowled over with the music-centered features included in this Samsung mobile. The handset has a microSD card slot which supports up to 16GB and has a 1GB internal memory specially slotted for music.

The player integrated into the device is compatible with wma, mp3, unprotected .aac and .aac+ formats. It also has a 3.5mm headset jack for devices such as headphones. Users can create and manage playlists and with a simple touch of a button gain access to all the stored music files. While listening to music, users can also access the other features in the phone. V Cast Music with Rhapsody enables customers to avail of many songs. Music can also be downloaded from the users' PC onto their phone via a USB cable.

The Trance mobile phone also sports a 1.3 megapixel camera with NightShot, Multishot, digital zoom and brightness adjustments. Equipped with resolution adjustment self-timer, different color effects and preview mode, the device gives users a variety of options to choose from when capturing precious moments.

Through Bluetooth, a variety of profiles such as stereo, hands-free, headset, basic imaging, serial port, phonebook access, Object Push for vCard and vCal can be accessed. Voice Command features such as voice dial, call alert, menu-, digit dial- and text message readout are enabled in this phone. Other audio aspects include speakerphone and embedded vibrating alerts and ringtones.

The Trance from Samsung measures 4 x 1.97 x 0.55 inches and weighs 3.53 ounces both with battery. Users can view text and images through 2.1 inch screen with 176 x 220 pixel and 262K TFT color display. Standard functions include calendar, notepad, alarm clock, calculator, stopwatch and speed dialing.The handset also features Airplane mode, English/Spanish bilingual interface and hearing aid compatibility of M4 T3. The handset gives consumers usage time of up to 270 minutes and standby time of up to 300 hours.

Additional services offered by Verizon Wireless are Media Center, Chaperone Parent and Child-capable, Mobile- Web, Web Mail and Email. The VZ Navigator gives customers audible turn-by-turn directions to various points of interest.

The Samsung Trance is available through Verizon Wireless for a price of $49.99 (approx. Rs.2,495) after a $50 mail-in rebate.
