Vodafone launches affordable variants 150, 250

MUMBAI: Vodafone has announced the launch of the Vodafone 150, its most affordable ultra low cost handset to date.

The Vodafone 150 will be available in markets at the retail price tag of less than 15 USD and the Vodafone 250 will retail unsubsidize at below 20 USD. Both the phones are expected to release in few weeks in India as well as The Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Mozambique, Qatar, South Africa and Tanzania regions.

The cost of mobile handsets can be one of the most significant barriers for people in accessing and benefiting from the growing number of socially valuable mobile services. The lives of people who use these phones – the Vodafone 150 and Vodafone 250 – will be changed and improved as they become part of the mobile society. Vodafone 150 and Vodafone 250 phones features with voice and SMS services, color screen, FM radio as well as support for mobile payment services. Vodafone 250 screen is larger than the Vodafone 150.According to Vodafone; Vodafone 150 is the cheapest handset in the mobile market till date. Company's main aim is to reach more and more people especially from isolated rural populations. In India, it is expected that device availability will reach 60 percent of the population.
