A R Rahman to be conferred Doctorate by AMU
MUMBAI: AMU has decided to confer D. Litt (Honoris Causa) degree on Indian music maestro A R Rahman,... a University statement said.
Apart from 43-year-old Rahman, who has become the toast of the nation after he won two Oscars on Monday for his music in Slumdog Millionaire�, industrialist Ratan Tata and M S Swaminathan, father of India's green revolution, are among the eminent people chosen for the honour at the annual convocation to be held here on March 25.
AR Rahman has bagged all the important Oscar awards recently. Be it Golden Globe or Bafta, he has received all the important awards and now with Oscars he has reached a success level unheard of for any India music composer.
Indian leaders, media professionals and people in the film industry all are lining up one after the other to congratulate the maestro.
