MUMBAI: BIG 92.7 FM, Surat's favourite FM Station, marked its first anniversary today. BIG FM which boasts of setting up the largest radio network in the shortest possible time has presence across the length and breadth of the country. The Surat Station was the last to be launched in the Gujarat cluster after Vadodara and Rajkot and has in the last one year grown to be an addiction amongst the people of Surat who are ardent lovers of RJ's and the shows on BIG 92.7 FM. The recent 105 hours marathon by RJ Setuu has added another feather in Surat station's cap and the remarkable response from the listeners during this activity ,has also confirmed the fact that BIG FM has become an integral part of most Surti's day-to-day life.

As part of its anniversary celebrations, BIG FM RJs went around the city involving people in various fun filled games and contests, giving out prizes instantly. A BIG CAKE was cut and shared with people at various locations in Surat including Sugar and Spice & Coffee Culture restaurants.

The station also organized a â€?9 2 7' competition wherein listeners possessing passports, driving licenses, PAN cards, licence plates etc with the digits â€?927' in their numbers, could win prizes by sending an SMS  to BIG FM along with a nice birthday message. Prizes were awarded every hour between 9 am and 7 pm and also a bumper prize was given away after selecting the best birthday message.

The on-air promotions for the anniversary celebration began a week in advance and the celebrations culminated with a Colorful Party attended by BIG FM associates and listeners.

Since its launch, the Station has created a new meaning to the word �entertainment' in the City and has been instrumental in bridging the social gap and creating awareness among the people of the City. The Station has not only provided a whole-some mix of entertainment to the local populace, but also acted as a forum to address various social concerns / issues faced by them. The Station, which lives its brand philosophy, Suno Sunao, Life Banao in everything that it does, has undertaken activities that have really impacted listeners' lives positively and is also a true reflection of the vibe of the city.

Besides providing entertainment through  music, the station in the past year,  has also ingeniously entertained the populace of Surat by organizing BIG CUP Corporate Cricket Tournament, Singing Competitions, Kite flying competitions, and occasion specific events like Mere Yaar ki Shaadi hain during wedding season, Heera no BIG Varsaad in the run up to Valentine's Day, BIG Education Mela soon after results were out for school and college students, NRI Week to assist and entertain NRGs when they visit India, World No Tobacco Day, April Fool's Day, Mother's Day, Women's Day, Aloona Vrat  etc  BIG FM, Surat has also enthusiastically celebrated Diwali, Holi, Janmashtami, Navratri and New Year along with its listeners.

A survey by Indica Research in March this year has endorsed BIG FM's growing popularity in Surat. The station also won the best Finance Station award amongst 44 BIG FM stations across India....
