Giant Step congratulates Grammy nominated clients

MUMBAI: The Black Eyed Peas, Maxwell, Lady Gaga, India.Arie, Katy Perry, Jazmine Sullivan, Mos Def, Common, Q-Tip, Robert Glasper, Stefon Harris & Femi Kuti

Offering up a variety of marketing services to both major label and independent artists, Giant Step's nearly 20 years in the industry has earned them a reputation for introducing quality music from established and up-and-coming artists from around the globe. The last year has been no exception as 29 Grammy nominations were received for projects Giant Step championed.

Already looking forward to what 2010 has in store, Giant Step CEO/President Maurice Bernstein states, "We are delighted that these stellar artists received the much deserved Grammy recognition. As always, Giant Step's ethos is to work with quality talent as evidenced in past Grammy wins for artists we helped establish such as Radiohead, Amy Winehouse, OutKast and several others."

The Black Eyed Peas reemerged with The E.N.D. (Interscope Records), an electro infused hip-hop album that debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and earned six nominations. Giant Step developed a guerilla marketing campaign for the release in major markets across the US including freeway banners in Los Angeles. Maxwell also received six nominations for his long-awaited fourth studio album Blacksummers' Night (Columbia Records), which Giant Step introduced to tastemakers and lifestyle companies.

With five total nominations, Lady Gaga has firmly established herself with the debut album The Fame (Interscope Records). Giant Step was one of the first to recognize her unique talents in the fall of 2008 and began introducing their coveted group of tastemakers, both corporate and consumer, and DJ's to what would become one of 2009's hottest acts.

Giant Step handled the online publicity campaign for India.Arie's Testimony: Vol. 2, Love & Politics (Universal Republic), which garnered three nominations.

The company worked with three artists in the Best Rap Album category. Songs from Q-Tip's The Renaissance (Universal Motown) were played for a capacity crowd at Giant Step's annual Central Park SummerStage show. Giant Step also marketed Common's Universal Mind Control (Geffen Records) and provided DJ promotion for Mos Def's The Ecstatic (Downtown Records).

Jazmine Sullivan and Katy Perry continue to receive nominations for tracks off of their previously recognized debut albums, Fearless (J Records) & One of the Boys (Capitol Records) respectively. The company helped introduce both of these young artists to the masses through lifestyle marketing campaigns including live performances for the Steve Madden Music Series.

Rounding out the list is Best Contemporary Jazz Album nominee Stefon Harris for his album Urbanus (Concord Records), Robert Glasper's Best Urban/Alternative Performance nomination for "All Matter" off of Double-Booked (Blue Note Records) and Femi Kuti in the Best Contemporary World Music Album category for Day by Day (Mercer Street Records).
