'Green March' by Radio Mirchi receives huge response from Hyderabadi's

MUMBAI: Hyderabad has grown far and wide with the ever growing population & motor vehicles taking a toll on the topography and environment of the city. Sensing a need to create awareness among Hyderabadi's, Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM in association with Convergys and PBEL Infrastructures on the occasion of 'World Environment Day Week' had initiated a 'GREEN MARCH'.

The march began from Necklace Road covering a stretch of 500 meters received tremendous response with supporters turning up in huge numbers in support of the cause. Dr.Vani Mohan IAS, Additional Commissioner, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation was also present on the occasion extending her appreciation & support to the initiative. Mirchi RJ's were also seen educating & distributing saplings to the passerby crowd encouraging them to plant more trees and make Hyderabad a 'Green City'Speaking on the occasion, GG Jayantha, Cluster Head Radio Mirchi Andhra Pradesh said, "Radio Mirchi has always felt the pulse of the city and has contributed to make Hyderabad a better to place live in with its dynamic city centric activities. The Green March was also an initiative to make Hyderabadi's more environment friendly citizens"

Radio Mirchi also had initiated an on-air activity urging the listeners to part of the 'Hussain Sagar Bachao Andolan' and provide their suggestions save the serenity of the lake. The on-air activity also took the listeners testaments & tips to save electricity, avoid polythene and increase greenery
