MUMBAI : India Music Network presents Skrat, the band known for its in your face music . Being a Chennai based band it was also a huge hit on the NH7 Weekender. Skrat is an alt rock trio of 24-year-olds with TT Sriram on lead vocals and guitars, Satish Narayanan on bass and backing vocals and Tapass Naresh on drums.
They have released two albums and are well known since their ‘Skrat In The Shed' YouTube video. You can watch the video on India Music Network. The band players have grown up watching Classical, Rock, Country, Metal, Alternative and much more. Their favorites include Thermal and a Quarter, Nerverek, Touchwood, Junkyard Groove, The Shakey Rays, Tails on Fire, Adam and the Fish eyed Poets, Franks got the Funk, etc…
They call themselves the combination of the best. They have held out, survived the blizzards of lineup changes, a dearth of good audience and the hazards of taking a break in a very weak environment. Bring Out The Big Guns is a compilation of the band’s collective frustration. “It’s basically a scream of a release,” says Sriram. “The whole band has been abandoned on at some point in our lives, and we want to talk about it. That’s where the lyrics come from. There’s a storytelling approach to how we write, that’s because of all the country music we’re influenced by.”
Watch the band perform on India Music Network and let them groove you with their foot tapping music.
