MUMBAI: Siliguri's first radio station Radio Misty will celebrate Durga puja with fun and music. The station has a planned programs and promotions to celebrate the festival with their listeners. The theme for the station this puja is Pujar Anando Misty Sanghe where the station is making trips to puja pandals with contests to get the vibe of the festive spirit.

Radio misty is celebrating the spirit of Durga Puja with a high-powered on-air musical welcoming Goddess Durga on Mahalaya on 29 September. The show will feature live recitals by well-known Bengali artistes. The show ends with the legendary Birendra Krishna Bhadra chanting the Mahalaya Strotras. The FM station will be playing Mahisasur Mardini by Legendary Birendra Krishna Bhadra.

On Mahalaya Radio Misty is organizing 4 km and a 15 km road Race in association with Baghajatin Athletic Club in Siliguri. This race will be flagged by Athlete Sushmita Singha Roy.

Listeners of the radio station can take part in the whole initiative by taking part in on air contest and win cash prize money of rupees one lakh 20 thousand is on offer.

A special show is aired daily which will follow the festival right from the initial stages to the idol immersion. It will cover committee meetings, interviews with puja organizers, idol makers, priests and others.

The â€?Misty Pujo Parikrama' will feature best pujas in all towns of North Bengal. Misty RJ will be having live studios at this pandals and live shows will be on air from there. Live updates on crowd at different puja pandals will be aired. Radio Misty also has alliances with best pandals of north Bengal and will broadcast live from these places  Misty Smriti' will feature celebrities and VIPs of north Bengal. Where they will recall their childhood memories of how they celebrated the festival in those days.

Top Bengali singers like Raghav, Nachiketa,Jojo, Suprotik,Pranjal,Indrani sen,Anusua,Mita chatterjee  and Mou will share their puja tracks and experiences exclusively on radio misty.

Idol immersion will be taken live from all towns where RJ  will be stationed .Radio misty will have 24x7 SMS service where listeners can wish happy puja .all sms will be taken on air.

Radio Misty has always been associated with people of North Bengal not only through music, but also through its spirit of spreading happiness in different ways. This time we decided to share this feeling of pleasure and festivity with people who need it the most. Misty Team will spend few hours at old age home Apna ghar and with inmates of jesu ashram. A Live studio will be set up at Old age home and   a show will be live on air from there.
