My FM launches special initiatives to celebrate World Environment Day across all stations

MUMBAI: Making its mark and stressing on the growing concern for the environment, 94.3 MY FM, through several special initiatives on World Environment Day, is making it a tradition to celebrate the environment and to inspire MY FM's listeners to embrace a greener culture. Several on-air and on ground initiatives dedicated to the environment were taken up by all of MY FM's 17 stations, along with its listeners as they embarked upon taking more positive steps towards living an environment friendly lifestyle and ensuring to do their bit for Mother Earth'.

MY FM's on-air initiatives included airing information capsules urging listeners to take a ride on the green side and some special contests for which the winners received saplings as prizes instead of the usual goody-bags. MY FM's environment day capsules were aired at specific times to reach out to people during the day and remind them of the small steps they can take in their daily activities to become more environment friendly. MY FM aired little capsules like the 10 AM capsule excuse me signal par hai...to engine off kar do", and the 11AM announcement of kitchen mein hai...to lid cover karke sabzi pakaayiyee".

Along with MY FM's exciting on-air initiative the station also organized an array of on-ground activities aimed at spreading awareness and getting across the message of being environment friendly. MY FM's activities aimed to go beyond the on-air relationship with its listeners and interact with the people personally. To make the people a part of the drive, MY FM gave away tree saplings on traffic signals as a solid, visible and an environment friendly mark on the GREEN DAY. Apart from these activities, MY FM RJ's, along with the Mayor in each of the 17 cities planted saplings on the occasion of World Environment Day

Giving a complete youthful touch to the Day, 94.3 MY FM organized a rock fest especially for its listeners where MY FM encouraged and provided a platform to college bands to perform on the theme Save the environment' and thus express their concern towards the environment. MY FM planned this activity to allow the youth to carry its message forward through their music. The entry to this exciting fest had an interesting twist where the dress code for the public was Green.

Speaking about World Environment Day initiatives, Mr. Harrish M. Bhatia – Chief Operating Officer of 94.3 MY FM said MY FM has always taken an initiative when it comes to the environment. All our stations planned several special activities for the World Environment Day as we believe we have a responsibility towards our planet as much as we have a responsibility towards our home. We developed our initiatives to ensure that listeners across our stations can actively participate in and also understand the urgent need to safeguard the environment. The idea behind these activities was to involve the listeners in a fun filled and positive endeavour as we celebrated this special day. We received an excellent response from our listeners and participated in these activities with full fervor....
