MUMBAI: It started with a call from Ms. Rashmi Talwar to Radio Mirchi - Hi Mumbai informing about a lady lying unconscious and soaked in blood, in the first class compartment of a Borivli bound train on Tuesday morning (June 24, 2008). That's when Mumbaikars truly experienced the power of Radio Mirchi when the station made it a mission to save the unidentified lady.
The station through its RJ don of radio, Jeeturaaj urged and appealed to Radio Mirchi listeners to offer help, as the lady needed urgent medical assistance to which the citizens of Mumbai along with officials responded with open hearts. Radio Mirchi managed to arrange for an ambulance, before the train reached Mahim station. Mirchi RJ Jeeturaaj even went ahead and contacted the senior railway authorities and requested them to make necessary arrangements to get the lady to the nearest hospital until a permanent solution could be found.Finally, the effort of all paid off and within hour's time and the lady was taken to a nearby hospital with doctors attending to her wounds. By late afternoon, the hospital confirmed that she was out of danger and recovering.
"The incident reinforces the belief that Mumbai whenever in need reaches out to Radio Mirchi and its RJ don of radio Jeeturaaj. Very soon this unique social practice started by Mirchi will become a phenomenon and likewise, more and more Mumbaikars will come forward to give a helping hand to fellow human beings in need anytime, anywhere", said Sriram Kilambi, Station Director, Radio Mirchi Mumbai.
