Radio One plays cupid with a Fataafat proposal

MUMBAI: 94.3 FM, Radio One, for the Fataafat Generation, played cupid yesterday, by creating and airing a reality show called "A Radio Wedding" that had a man from Mumbai propose to his beloved, also a regular listener of Radio One in Pune.

Dr. Hari, a student of medicine, lives here in Mumbai and was the protagonist of the show. He's deeply in love with Neha, who lives in Pune. Neha, who also considers Dr. Hari her soul-mate, celebrated her birthday yesterday, and had already proposed marriage to Dr. Hari, but not received a response from him. He was holding out to find a really special way of conveying his response. He wanted to ensure that this most important answer is conveyed in the most memorable way possible. He sent Radio One an SOS, and the station came up with the idea of doing a reality show called "The Radio Wedding" which would connect both parties across the cities.

So yesterday, Hari joined RJs Jaggu and Tarana on Radio One's Good Morning Mumbai Show to share his love-story with listeners in the city, while RJ Sangraam gave Neha surprise call in Pune, and connected her to Hari who read a poem he wrote for her and proposed marriage. Neha was over the moon and asked him to set a date immediately and they have decided to get married officially on Sunday.

Says Vehrnon Ibrahim, National Programming Director, Radio One "I am touched and delighted these two people chose to join their lives together on 94.3 Radio One. Romance Fataafat is alive and kicking! "

Radio One has 6 stations operating in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune and Ahmedabad and will soon launch in Kolkotta.
