Red FM celebrates 10 anniv with Red Live
MUMBAI: India’s largest radio network, Red FM, celebrated 10 years of airing “Super Hit” music in Kolkata.
The land of heritage witnessed 10 nights of musical revelry ending yesterday. The 10 day affair, which saw the who’s who of Kolkata converging in, culminated on 5 May at City Centre, with a grand performance by well known Bollywood playback singer, Shalmali Kholgade. She is popular for super-hit songs in movies like Ishaqzaade and Race2.
Shalmali shared her experience saying, “It was so great that Red FM’s 10th anniversary celebration in the form of concerts (Red Live) gave me the chance to perform in Kolkata for the first time. My association with Red FM goes back a long way, since the day Amit Trivedi called me to sing the Red FM’s Bajaate Raho jingle. Kolkata audience was just amazing, singing along throughout. It’s not just a city of joy; it’s a city of extreme joy! I loved the entire experience… rasgullas too!"
Commenting on the event Nisha Narayanan, chief operating officer, 93.5 Red FM said, “Red FM has completed 10 years in Kolkata. 5 May was the culmination of 10 live concerts across the city with the big one yesterday at City Centre with the renowned Bollywood singer Shalmali Kholgade performing her latest Superhits. In fact she is the voice behind the RED FM jingle presently on-air which was composed by Amit Trivedi. We plan to continue to entertain Kolkata with the best Hindi Superhits in years to come."
