Red FM launches Pothole utsav with Malishka
MUMBAI: India’s largest radio network RED FM has launched a unique contest - Pothole Utsav! On the Morning No.1 show, hosted by RJ Malishka. The objective of the campaign is to hunt for city’s biggest, baddest and boldest potholes.
When authorities claim to have spent crores on the maintenance of roads, Mumbaikars in the city are leading a miserable life struggling to sail through potholed roads every day. Potholes continue to disturb lives in the financial city and commuters have almost given up on the authorities. They feel travelling on the roads is extremely dangerous and life threatening.
‘Pothole Utsav’ is an interactive contest by RED FM, wherein listeners, if they think their area has the worst pothole, just need to call up RJ Malishka. Listeners can also participate in the contest by uploading pictures of the potholes on RED FM’s Facebook page. For the most magnificent potholes, RED FM will go to the location and do ‘puja’ of the pothole.
Commenting on the campaign, Red FM COO Ms Nisha Narayanan said “Potholed roads are recurring phenomena in Mumbai, which not only create traffic problems, but also lead to accidents. With the heavy rains, they are a critical constraint to safe commute, already having claimed a few lives. Through this activity, we’re attempting to highlight this in a stark yet entertaining manner. I hope the system will take notice and take necessary action, before potholes become an even bigger nuisance in Mumbai.”
