Saapna Mukerji's releases new album'Mere Piya'

Mumbai August 23: Hearing the chartbuster from the classic Jaanbaaz " Tera saath hai kitna pyaara" still gets our hearts melting. This and many more are some of the unforgettable tracks that have been a part of our own personal love lives.

Saapna Mukerji, the voice behind these memorable numbers, is back and this time with numbers that promise to give the feeling of love, a new meaning. Her new album " Mere Piya" was launched at Vie Lounge in Mumbai by the'nightingale of India' Lata Mangeshkar.

Coming this August,'Mere Piya' has been produced by Sahara India Pariwar with the music being released and marketed by T- Series. The music for the album is composed by Raju Singh and Pt Satyanarayan Mishra, and consists of 7 love songs sung by Saapna Mukerji. it also has one soulful duet sung of Saapna Mukerji and Sonu Nigam.

Says the delighted Saapna Mukerji, "This album is extremly special for me since its being launched by my idol Lata Didi. God has indeed been very kind and generous to me. Also, I am extremely thankful to Sahara India Pariwar & T- series for the support in this entire endeavor."

Having sung more than hundred songs in numerous flims, Saapna began her career in 1986. In a very short span of time, she proved her caliber by winning the Filmfare Award for the Popular Number Oye-Oye, from the flim Tridev. In the Year 2005, she had recieved the India Sangeet Award and Critic's Award for the Best Female Playback Singer for the film Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, in which she had sung for A.R. Rehman.
