Sandalwood actor takes Bangalore Mirchi listeners for auto rickshaw ride

BANGALORE:  As part of the promotion of his latest movie – â€?Kallara Santhe', Sandalwood actor Yash took three Radio Mirchi Bangalore listeners for an auto rickshaw ride on Saturday, December 26, 2009. Yash plays an auto rickshaw driver in the movie which was released on December 18.

The contest was held on Christmas day, December 25, on the â€?Bitte Ticket' (Free Ticket) show hosted by RJ Avinash. The ideation for the show was by Radio Mirchi Bangalore RJ Navin. As per the on-air contest rules, one lucky winner was to have the opportunity to get a ride in auto rickshaw by driven by Yash, who did not want to dishearten the other two girls and took all  three for an auto rickshaw ride at an event.

Said Yash, I didn't know that I had such a huge female following, until this contest on Radio Mirchi where I heard there was a big queue of girls, wanting to go on the auto rickshaw ride with me! The movie is yet to gain the required attention but gradually I see that audiences are coming forward to watch and appreciate it....

�Kallara Santhe' has been directed by Suman Kittur with the story by Agni Sridhar. It portrays a sharp political satire as opposed to the recent overdose of love and rowdyism in Kannada movies in 2009.

Among Yash's Kannada films are �Moggina Manasu', �Rocky' and �Gokula'. He has also acted in a few television serials such as �Preethi Illada Mele' on ETV Kannada which ran for over 500 episodes.

Moggina Manasu bagged five Filmfare awards at the 56th Filmfare awards including the best supporting award actor for Yash.
