Senzari unveils first Internet Radio Integration to Facebook Places
MUMBAI: Senzari, an international web-based radio service offering personalized music recommendations from a catalog of over 10 million songs, debuts a never-before-seen music discovery feature as well as a "mobile first" redesign now open to the public.
The location-aware feature initially combines check-in data and individuals’ musical tastes, from Facebook® Places and Senzari, to showcase the most popular artists of people that visit a particular venue have in common. Currently, the data is based on Facebook’s “check-in” information, but it will soon be expanded to other similar services, such as FourSquare and Google Places. “This feature is meant to show the intersection between physical places and music in cities around the world. It’s a cool way to browse your city and get a sense of the type of people that go to a particular bar or restaurant based on their musical tastes,” explained Demian Bellumio, COO of Senzari. “Senzari automatically generates radio stations based on the artists you find at each of these locations, which will allow you to discover new music and meet new people based on their music taste in virtually any city in the world.”
Previously Senzari was an invitation-only service and only offered in English, but Senzari is launching publicly today to all users in the United States, Brazil and Spain offering local language support for each market. The Company’s official launch of its operations in Spain is particularly important, as it will act as the cornerstone of its European expansion. “We are committed to the Spanish market not only for its potential, but also for its musical history and culture," explained Bill Hajjar, Founder and CEO of Senzari. “Spain is also strategically located between the Americas and Europe, both regions where we hope to expand aggressively into over the coming months.”
As part of the Senzari’s public launch, the web version of the service has been redesigned following a "mobile first" approach to create a user experience that is consistent across all devices. Senzari plans to release mobile and tablet versions of the service powered by HTML5, as well as develop native applications for Android and iOS towards the end of April 2012.
