'Summertime Rocks' music video by "Smoke" gets almost 100,000 hits on You Tube
MUMBAI: "Summertime Rocks", a music video of a track by the same name from the album "Smoke Signals" is close to receiving 100,000 hits on Youtube , within a month of the track being put up on the site. In fact, Summertime Rocks is now on the opening page of the Youtube website. The catchy tune of the song, the experimental bi-lingual lyrics and the funky rhythm seems to have made it quite a hit on Youtube. The track and it's accompanying video hits a positive vibe with all sorts of music lovers because of its bi-lingual lyrics and playful visuals.
Summertime Rocks is the flagship song of the recently launched Smoke Signals by Blue Frog Records. Vocals by Kailash Kher add new dimensions to haunting music composed by musicians Ashutosh Phatak and Dhruv Ghanekar (better known as Ashu and Dhruv), who have given it a distinct rock-n-roll flavour and have yet managed to maintain a melody that is universal in appeal. It's a song that is bound to catch the fancy of many, as Youtube clearly indicates. Said Ashu-Dhruv, "The hits on Youtube are a validation of what we were certain was a track that would reach a wide and varied audience." The music video of "Summertime Rocks is an animated, light-hearted caper and is a musical collaboration between Ashu-Dhruv and well-known artist Kailash Kher.
