MUMBAI: After the great success of "ELVIS 75" held at ISHANYA last year, to celebrate the Kings 75th Birthday, ISHANYA Art and Culture Club and Jehangir Hospital are jointly presenting "THE ELVIS ENCORE" in aid of JUVENILE DIABETES on Saturday, January 22 at the ISHANYA Amphitheatre. Elvis' strong involvement with charity has been one of the best kept secrets of all time. During his lifetime, Elvis had given huge sums to hundreds of Charitable Organizations, so much so that in 1967 Tennessee Governor declared "Elvis Presley Day" in honour of Elvis' on-going charitable largesse.

Elvis' involvement with charity culminated in his concert "ALOHA FROM HAWAII" which was the first live satellite broadcast, shown live around the world way back in 1973 and was watched by a billion people. This Concert was for the local Kui Lee Cancer Fund, which raised $75,000, three times the initial estimate. As one newspaper aptly put it, "Elvis Presley probably raised more money for charity, than any other entertainer in the history of showbiz".

The tribute is by the versatile Gary Lawyer, the finest artist in the field of popular western music. He is no stranger to Pune and had the large crowds at "ELVIS 75" dancing in the aisles in October 2010. He promises an even better show this time !
