This is Gayle-Storm Oh Yes Abhi! style
MUMBAI: Cricket fans witnessed history being made at the Pepsi IPL recently when Jamaican cricketer and Royal Challengers Bangalore star, Chris Gayle scored the fastest century in professional cricket. After scoring a ton in just 30 balls, Gayle-Storm, as he is aptly known among fans, took his total to 175 not out. While he creates a storm with the bat, Gayle is also known for his on-field antics to celebrate a boundary or a wicket. The same Gayle-ntertainment can be seen in a funky music video, premiered during the Extra Innings segment on the Pepsi IPL broadcast and online exclusively by Pepsi.
Gayle recently starred in a Pepsi IPL commercial with Bollywood star, Priyanka Chopra and the ad film went viral online even before it went on-air. The official video on Pepsi’s YouTube page has already received over 7 lac views and was the top trending video earlier this month. The latest video featuring Gayle in his cool entertainer avatar has already garnered close to 2 lac views in just three days.
The video celebrates Gayle as a cricketer and an entertainer where he shows different moves from Bhangra to Bollywood Thumkas to other popular styles. His personality is captured in a fun and irreverent manner in this 70s style video with some lines sung by Gayle himself. After talking about four kabhi toh sixer kabhi, jogging kabhi toh gymming kabhi and cricketer kabhi toh entertainer kabhi, he reminds everyone in the video about Pepsi Oh Yes Abhi! Abhi! Abhi!
“We made this video to entertain my fans who love Pepsi. I am happy to have entertained everyone with my game on-field and hopefully this video will also appeal to all. I promise more Oh Yes Abhi entertainment during the upcoming matches”, said Chris Gayle.
Pepsi and its creative agency, Taproot also decided to retain a behind the scenes fun element in the video where Gayle insists on hearing “action” before saying his lines. Now that’s what we call Gayle-Storm Oh Yes Abhi! Style.
