Times music presents Hare Krishna Hare Rama, Purbayan and Mann ke Sanskaar
MUMBAI: Times Music presents HARE KRISHNA HARE RAMA - The Mahamantra for higher consciousness. Chanted in devotion to the two incarnations or avatars for higher consciousness. Chanted in devotion to the two incarnations or avatars of Lord Vishnu (Rama and Krishna), the Hare Krishna Hare Rama mantra is believed to generate a higher state of consciouness within all those who chant it and even within those who simply listen to it. The mantra is generally chanted in three ways - loudly (kirtan), softly to oneself (japa), or internally within the mind. A mantra is mystical energy encased in a sound structure and each mantra contains within each vibrations a certain power. But of all mantras, the maha-mantra (the Hara Krishna mantra) has been prescribed as the easiest and surest way of attaining God Realization in this present age.
Whenever you chant this mantra, always keep in meaning in mind. Chant this mantra with devotion and faith. While repeating his mantra request the God almighty to take away all your sorrows, pains and failures and give you joy and bliss. This sacred mantra is a part of Upanishads and is chanted by scores ofdevotees in India and abroad. In this album, Jagjit Singh lends his melodious voice and takes listeners on a devotional journey, making them experience trh external grace and benevolence of Rama and Krishna.
PURBAYAN
'Purbayan' is a live recording of one of the sitar artistes of the younger generation - Purbayan Chatterjee, at a concert in Kolkata. He has been accompanied on the Tabla by none other than Tabla maestro Pandit Anindo Chatterjee. The album compromises the midnight Raag Bageshree and a semi classical Dadra in Raag Mishra Piloo.
The bulid up of Raga Bageshree is gentle & grand at the same time during the Alaap and od. In the Gat, however there is an exuberance and lyricism as is characteristic of Purbayan's style of music. Anindoji's rhythmic analysis in the Rupak Taal composition is witty, intricate and yet made to look absolutely lucid. The hun in Mishra Pioo is in contrast to the classical structure of Bageshree. There is a lighter, more romantic approch in this Dadra.
Purbayan Chattrerjee has had an international career of more than 25 years today. He has learnt Sitar from his father Parthapratim Chatterjee and Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. He has also trained in vocal music from Pt. Anindo Chatterje. Purbayan's music from Pt. Ajoy Chakrabaty and in rhythm from Pt. Anindo Chatterjee. Purbayan's music is inspired by the style of Pt. Nikhil Banerjee of the Senia Maihar Gharna. Purbayan hastoured extensively in all the continents of the world in many prestigious festivals and venues. He has developed a sound of his own which emodies the completeness of Pt. Nikhil Banerjee and is enhanched by the contemporary feel of his own sensitivity.
