24-7 entertainment to provide EMI`s DRM free catalogue

MUMBAI: Europe`s B2B digital music provider, 24-7 Entertainment has made EMI Music`s higher quality DRM-free catalogue available to its extensive network of digital store partners.

Weltbild was the first retailer among the 24-7`s network to release EMI`s DRM-free catalogue, followed by online giant CD ON. Others are expected to follow suit.

EMI Music`s Global Head of Digital, Barney Wragg said, "With this new agreement with 24-7, even more consumers will be able to purchase our higher quality DRM-free downloads and play them on any music player."

"We now have over 1.2 million tracks of DRM-free music. This format has proven to be a much more user friendly experience and we hope that other major labels will follow suit with this ground-breaking initiative," says 24-7 Entertainment, CEO, Frank Taubert.

The EMI catalogue is available in the MP3 format at 320 Kbit/s.
