AR Rahman teams up with Mick Jagger's new band

MUMBAI: Oscar winner AR Rahman has joined hands with, the rock legend Mick Jagger, 'Eurythmics star' Dave Stewart, Damian Marley and Joss Stone to form a band called 'Super Heavy'.
Rahman has confirmed about the collaboration through his Facebook fan page posting which was titled "and Super Heavy is born."
"18 months ago Dave Stewart, Mick Jagger, Damien Marley, Joss Stone and me experimented at a studio in Los Angeles, trying to write songs which had meaning...We had a couple of more sessions after that trying to perfect every song that was written and presently we have around 16 to 18 songs and all the songs have a world sound by contributions from all of us,"
"Dave`s and Mick`s incredible musicality and Joss` soul singing, Damien Marley`s Jamaican influence and philosophies and me bringing musicality from my world. It`s all too early to talk about this but I guess you guys should know something atleast...." Rahman posted.
The 67-year-old Mick Jagger's publicist confirmed the collaboration to the newspaper. "They just finished a record and their first video and are talking to major labels about a deal. The name for the band at the moment is 'Super Heavy. Each member has a very distinct and different style, but it works. Mick has been recording with Dave for a while, and both worked with Joss in the past,... source revealed to Post.
Rahman's earlier international collaborations include Michael Bolton's 'Gems-the duet collection,' The Pussycat Dolls, Akon and a star-studed second version of Michael Jackson's 'We Are the World.
