Ashish Joshi quits Universal Music Group

MUMBAI: Universal Music Group India digital & business development head Ashish Joshi has put in his papers after serving the company for about four years (3 years 10 months). Joshi, will be serving the three months notice period till 31 December 2012.

Joshi had joined the label in January 2009.

Confirming the news with Radioandmusic.com, Joshi said, “I have put in my papers and am serving the notice period.  My journey with Universal Music was as an aspiring one. I enjoyed working with my Indian and International team. There is absolutely no reason for me to quit the company, despite the fact that my next venture offers me better entrepreneur opportunities as I would be a part of the core leadership team.”

Joshi will be joining the social music streaming service Dhingana, as the head of business development.

Prior to joining Universal Music, Joshi was with Hungama Digital Media Entertainment for about three years as general manager.
