Big FM Bhubaneshwar rolls out Rathyatra activities

MUMBAI: Big 92.7 FM has planned a series of different activities which will bring the Bhubaneshwar Rathyatra closer to the listeners.On air celebrations have started a week in advance with local celebrities narrating legends and folklore associated with the Lord and his Temple in Puri as well as on the essence of the Rathyatra. With the world-wide release of the movie "Jai Jagannath" slated for the occasion, Big 92.7 FM plans to play the songs of the movie throughout the day of the Rathyatra. The essence of Rathyatra in Puri would also be brought forth to the listeners of Big 92.7 FM. The head priest of the Puri temple, administrators, volunteer heads and heads of the temple trustee would air special messages for Big 92.7 FM listeners.

Big 92.7 in Bhubaneswar would keep the spirit of the holy festival live till "Bahuda" on 24 July when the Lord returns back to His Temple.

The station will also organise a number of on-ground activities closer to the day of the Rathyatra. A contest would be organised to select Ratha captains who would update listeners on the movement of the various Raths moving in the city. The OB vans of Big would provide water packets to the masses. On ground contests would be organised and listeners given on-the-spot gifts. As on ground support to the event, the station will also line up administrators and volunteers who would talk about the safety measures and alternate traffic routes from specially set up Big assistance booths, says the station.
