Big FM lines up Ganesh fest programming

MUMBAI: Big 92.7 FM has tied up with `Lal Baugh cha raja`, the city`s leading public Ganesh festival, as well as the Siddhi Vinayak temple during the ongoing 11 day Ganesh festival.

The station is also running an on-air contest wherein listeners get the opportunity to send in photographs of their deities set up inside their homes.

Says Big`s Mumbai station head Arjun Singgh Baran, "During Ganesh Chaturthi, a festival that ushers in cheer, hope and goodness, we have put together a wholesome entertainment mix, to keep the city thoroughly entertained and glued to our station."

Along with live coverage of the morning and evening aartis, the station will provide the significance of each Ganesh Utsav day from the then priest of the Lalbaug Ganesh fest, as well as traffic updates and people movement status in and around the venue. A mobile Big 92.7 FM booth has been set up for live outdoor coverage, and live coverage of the Visarjan procession will also be provided.

The station`s breakfast RJs Archana Jani and Vrajesh Hirjee will be visiting pandals in the city including select listeners` houses to celebrate the festival. There will be celebrity interviews and live performances of the Ganesha aartis on-air, an on air campaign created for listeners` on how to make the festival safe and environmentally clean. The station`s RJ Anirudh will also be visiting his fans at some of the most prominent pandals in town, says a release. Meanwhile, Big`s Bangalore station celebrated Ganesh Chathurthi at the SKC Mall, with actor Tara unveiling a statue of Lord Ganesh and performing pooja. Breakfast show RJs Harsha Sivaram and Kiran Sreedhar were also present at the event.

The station also distributed 927 `modaks` to devotees present at SKC mall. The event was also broadcast on-air and the station invited listeners to visit the Lord Ganesh Statue at SKC mall.
