BANGALORE: Bangalore Ad club`s `Big Bang Awards` has roped in Big 92.7 FM and Zee Kannada as sponsors for the event which will have a `Kannada` theme.

To that effect, Big FM plans to salute an average Kannadiga - this could be anyone from an auto driver or a person from the entertainment industry or a CEO of a big organization. On the day of the awards function, sound bytes from Kannada celebrities who have made it big in life such as Infosys`s Narayanmurthy and Nandan Nilekeni, entertainment industry`s Girish Karnad will be aired and a tape of these bytes will be looped during the awards events too.

According to sources at Essel, Zee Kannada, the other awards function sponsor from the broadcast space, will be carrying clips of the awards proceedings on a special segment on its hourly news bulletin `Sudddhi 180`, which will be dedicated to the `Big Bang Awards`.

Clips are also likely to be aired on Zee Kannada`s evening show `Namma Bangalore` (Our Bangalore), besides which, a special and exclusive 30 minute program on the `Big Bang Awards` is likely to be aired a few days later.

Big FM and ex-Radio City 91.1 FM Kannada RJ Kiran Shridhar will be one of the presenters of the show along with Ramya Vasistha, an independent freelancer.However, entries for the Kannada category this year have been poor. "There are very few entries in the newly introduced Kannada categories this year, hardly four or five, I think," revealed an industry source.
