Caf® Coffee Day initiates `Music Caf®`

MUMBAI: Caf© Coffee Day has something more than just coffee to offer now on weekends. The coffee shop chain has launched an event - `Music Caf©` - during which coffee lovers can now enjoy live performances by various non-commercial bands. The performances will take place at different CCD outlets all across the city of Mumbai, we learn.

The live performances by upcoming artistes and bands at various CCD outlets every weekend for a few months will be followed by a mega event for all the performers once they manage to gather some fans. The event would be modeled on the lines of I-Rock, a major event on the music lovers` calendar.

Performances have already begun in various outlets across Mumbai. Says the event`s organiser, event management company Prism Eventz` Vipul Kunte, "We are looking forward to strike a chord with the coffee lovers at CCD. We know the importance of music to the youth today."

The performance last Sunday at the Khar CCD outlet saw a musician duo perform. The lead singer, Anuraag says, "I believe that somewhere we are losing the taste for good music. So it`s necessary to introduce everyone to the music that is easily ignored but is good music. We also performed the songs that are songs that are well appreciated. So it was a blend of both."

When contacted, CCD`s regional marketing head Ritesh Shrivastav said, "We always want to provide our customers with some entertainment value. `Music Caf©` is not to increase sales but just to add on to the experience of coffee lovers."
