Canada based Indian jewellery designer turns singer

NEW DELHI: India-born Canadian jewellery designer and television host Meera has now come back to the country of her origin with a song album that attempts to capture the earthiness of Punjabi music.

Meera's debut album My Ranjha' is a combination of earthy Punjabi lyrics with new age music orchestration, bringing in an all new international and Indian feel to the album.

Apart from a unique fusion of the west and the east in the music, she has written the lyrics and also lent her sultry voice to them.

The album features songs that are pacy and sensual, while the lyrics are peppered with mischief and romance.

The music has been composed by Gurmeet Singh and Sachin Gupta.

In Canada, Meera had started her own High end Jewelers Business named Raj & Meera's India Jewelers' in Toronto.

For the past 15 years, she has also had A TV show in Toronto on the latest trends in fashion and jewelery, apart from her own half-hour TV program called Hello-G' which was aired on prime time channels. This show contained high end Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu poetry accompanied with beautiful melodies from both India and Pakistan.
