Channel [V] to kick off Launchpad III

MUMBAI: Channel [V] is set to launch the third season of its popular reality hunt show Launchpad.

The channel has roped in Vishal Dadlani as the judge for the new season. Launchpad 2009 will be a 13-week reality show.

Channel [V] VP content and communications Saurabh Kanwar tells Indiantelevision.com, The new season of Launchpad is not just a reality hunt show but a battle of bands wherein we are looking for complete band performances....

Currently, the channel is visiting institutes like IITs and other media schools and calling for entries from all over India.

According to channel [V], the entries will not have to cater to any particular genre or language. It could be a punk rock band from Shillong, a pop rock from Kolkata, or even a Malayali folk band from Kerala.

As a part of the procedure, Channel [V] will select final seven bands from the entries who will then fight for the winning title. The bands will be trained and judged on the basis of their musical prowess, originality and versatility as musicians.

The show has already introduced bands like Zero, Them Clones, Helga's Fun Castle, Zephyr and Pin Drop Violence.
