EMI releases new album with Pt Jasraj

MUMBAI: EMI Music has released 'Upasana', a series of devotional recordings at the 'Pt Motiram & Pt Maniram Sangeet Samaroh' in Hyderabad.

The devotional four CD compilation is a portrait of Panditji's musical pursuit and love for the almighty. The music is composed by Kedar Pandit, says a release issued on 16 January.

Speaking on the occasion, EMI's General Manager, T Suresh said,"The upasana series is a collection of daily prayers to our favourite Gods and is sure to find a place in every home. We at EMI take pride in this association with Jasrajji in releasing this quality recording."

Pandit Jasraj said, "The word 'Upasna' literally means 'Sitting Next To' but normally the term is used in Hinduism to denote a prescribed method for approaching a deity or getting close to that God. Once the deity is pleased, it is said to grant the wishes of devotee."
