Gurmeet Singh quits Music Today, to join Rajshri Media as CEO
MUMBAI: After a six year stint, Gurmeet Singh has put in his papers as managing director of Music Today. Singh will be taking charge as CEO of Rajshri Media in June 2008.
Confirming the news, Singh said that after a satisfying stint with the music label, it was now time for him to move on. "Through various initiatives like classical music recordings and ground music events, the company has now come up to a very good level. I have known Rajjat Barjatya for a nearly a decade and when this opportunity came up, I decided to take it up," Singh told Radioandmusic.com.Singh, who will take up his next assignment by mid June, said he would want to see Rajshri Media grow into one of the best broadband studios in the country.
Mala Sekhri, publishing director of magazines like Cosmopolitan and Good Housekeeping, is slated to take over from Singh.
Under Singh's stewardship, Music Today also recently announced a tie up with Star Plus, enabling the company to release over 200 hours of Star TV software on home video. Singh was Regional Head with Sony Music before he joined Music Today.
