Harley Rock Riders - Season V comes together with OML to 'rock' Mumbai
MUMBAI: With the many different genre music festivals happening in the country, rock music fans have lately been left wanting for a festival that centers only on rock music. Harley Rock Riders will fill in that gap when it returns for its fifth season in Mumbai. Scheduled to take place on 15 and 16 November this year, the line-up will see some of the biggest names in the Indian rock music scene perform at Richardson & Cruddas foundry, Byculla.
Harley-Davidson India and Only Much Louder (OML) will bring to fans India's most definitive rock music festival over two days. It will feature 20 bands on two live stages, along with hundreds of roaring Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
Headliners for the event will include major acts like American alt-rock band Mutemath, The Supersonics and Zero. The line-up will also feature Indian rock acts like BLAKC, Modern Mafia, Until We Last, Devoid, The Circus, Reverrse Polarity, Pangea, Scribe, Blackstratblues, Undying Inc, Tough On Tobacco and a few others.
Harley-Davidson India MD Anoop Prakash said, “Harley Rock Riders is not just a music festival. It is a way for all of us at Harley-Davidson to celebrate and support independent rock music in India and welcome enthusiasts seeking a taste of the Harley-Davidson lifestyle. This year, we are proud to enter into a partnership with Only Much Louder to produce Harley Rock Riders and create a two-day event that will set a new benchmark for rock festivals in India.”
Harley-Davidson India Director Marketing Pallavi Singh added, “Paradise City was the first ever song that Guns N' Roses licensed to a commercial – Harley-Davidson's iconic Black Sheep TV spot. Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix and Billy Idol, the list of Harley-Davidson's rock rebels rolls on. Harley Rock Riders is a festival that brings rock music and motorcycle lovers together, both bound by their burning desire for self-expression.”
OML Entertainment Pvt Ltd CEO Vijay Nair commented, “For me, this feels like going back to my roots. Most of us got initiated into live music through rock concerts and for some reason it has been overshadowed by other genres off late. Along with Harley-Davidson India, we are officially bringing rock back in the scene. Not only will this be the loudest concert this year, it will be a coming together of rock fans from across the country. Rock fans have never had a full-fledged festival to call their own, not for too long though. We promise you, it will be loud.”
Entry tickets will be available in two formats - a season ticket at Rs 1,500 that provides access to both days and a single day ticket at Rs 999, either for day one or day two. Tickets are currently available on NH7's Insider.in and at the Seven Islands Harley-Davidson dealerships in Bandra & Turbhe, Mumbai, and Two-Rivers Harley-Davidson dealership in Pune. NH7 Weekender 2014 ticket holders can also buy the two-day pass for Rs 1000.
For the last 4 years, Harley Rock Riders has become the festival that promotes indigenous rock bands and gives them a platform to showcase their talent. With a stellar line-up and a partnership with OML, this year's edition is expected to be larger than before.
