History Rocks returns to Fox History and Entertainment

MUMBAI: Fox History and Entertainment has announced the return of History Rocks with its fifth season, which is dedicated to the Woodstock Generation to music and peace.

Premiering on the channel on 2 April, this 12-part series allows music lovers a peek into the lives of rock legends of this generation and their biggest concerts. This time the series offers the likes of Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Dire Straits, Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin.

One of the episodes is called Led Zeppelin - Dazed And Confused. This documentary takes a rare look at Led Zeppelin, from their humble beginnings to their status as rock gods. The unique chemistry between singer Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist John Paul Jones & drummer John Bonham led to tensions within the band but were essential to their success.

Fox History and Entertainment senior VP content Ramon Chibb said, "The series is a unique combination of concerts, documentaries, stories of rock legends and their days of classic rock. This season is dedicated to the ultimate sound of popular rockers such as Pink Floyd, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, ThemRolling Stones to name a few."

The broadcaster has also organised five concerts: 21 April in Mumbai, 22 April in Pune, 27 April in Bengaluroo, 28 April in Hyderabad and 29 April in Delhi, at the Hard Rock Cafes in these cities. The contest will be co-branded on Facebook and the gratification thereon would include an all expenses paid trip for five couples to catch the Hard Rock 40th Anniv concert live in London. The contest will be promoted through ads on Facebook, promotions on air, online on the channel's and Hard Rock Caf?©'s websites, radio and through frequent posts on various social networking sites.

Moreover Fox History and Entertainment, in association with Sony Music will release a special 'History Rocks V' album capturing the best of the Woodstock Generation. This 5 CD boxed album will showcase 100 songs. The album will be launched at one of the History Rocks concerts.
