ICC releases details on making of De Ghumake music video

MUMBAI: The International cricket Council (ICC) has announced details of the making of the official music video for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 song, De Ghumake.

The music video, composed by the Indian musical trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, has been directed by Piyush Raghani and will be released on 7 February on television channels. The music video aims to capture the celebration, competition and excitement associated with the Cricket World Cup in a way that would appeal to fans the most.

Raghani said: It was supposed to be this concert in the middle of this stadium so that's why the fa?§ade, that's why you see stadium lights, city skylights and everything....

The highlight of the set is a rotating circular stage. Not just that, this phrase also inspired Longinus Fernandes, of Slumdog Millionaire fame, to choreograph the signature dance step of the music video.

The ICC says that De Ghumake is a passionate expression that creatively captures the fierce sense of competition and the desire to win. It literally means Hit It Hard. This local cricket phrase is every fan's wish and every cricketer's intention. It encapsulates all that it takes to win a match.
