ILT declares Mirchi number one in Kolkata

MUMBAI: The Wave 4 Indian Listenership Track (ILT) results have put Radio Mirchi top of the heap in Kolkata. Radio Mirchi has grown not only in listenership and popularity but has also been doing many on-ground and on air activities to keep the spirit of happiness going in the city, claims a release. Conducted by MRUC and AC Nielsen ORG-MARG, the study is based on the Day After Recall (DAR) methodology and gives Mirchi an almost 55 per cent share of the total radio category.

The closest competitors, Big 92.7 FM and Red FM recorded 11,09,000 and 6,89,000 listeners, in comparison to Mirchi`s 22,37,000 listeners.The listenership base for other radio stations in the city was Aamar FM 3,08,000 listeners, Power FM with 2,57,000 listeners and Friends FM with 2,23,000 listeners.

Radio Mirchi Kolkata`s Station Director, Sriram Kilambi, said, "The ILT results help reconfirm the individual city leadership of Radio Mirchi. The credit of our success lies in great team work between the programming and the sales and marketing teams, combined with an in-depth understanding of the city."
