India misses the Oscar race; 'War Horse' and 'Hugo' lead music nominees
MUMBAI: India's only hope at the Oscars this year, 'Dam999' has failed to make a cut in the final nomination list of the 84th Academy Awards.
Three songs from the film Dakkanaga Dugu Dug', Dam999 Theme Song' and Mujhe Chhod Ke', composed by Kerala-based National Award winning composer Ousephachan's had been shortlisted.
Commenting on the result, Roy said in a statement, I consider this as an achievement that my film travelled this far in the Oscars and I am happy with that....
Steven Spielberg War Horse' and Martin Scorsese 'Hugo' are leading the music categories with three nods each.
This year's Best Original Score nominees included two nods for the legendary John Williams, who was nominated for both The Adventures of Tintin' and War Horse'. Hugo' and War Horse' have received a nomination each in the Sound Editing, Sound Mixing and Original Score categories.
