'Khooni MondayÆ was a collective effort: Jigar

MUMBAI: After 'I Me aur Main', music composer duo Sachin-Jigar have delivered music for the much awaited zombie comedy 'Go Goa Gone' which has yet another entertaining soundtrack that is funny and at the same time quirky.

Speaking with Radioandmusic.com, music composer Jigar Saraiya said, “It was fun composing the mad soundtrack. We have been working on it for a while. As it is a first-of -its kind film, we had to set a benchmark. Later, when movie-makers make films like this they can take inspiration from the tracks of 'Go Goa Gone'.” The duo has composed the background score as well.

Saraiya has dedicated the song 'Khooni Monday' to every working individual, “ The characters in the film are under the influence of drugs and suddenly they are told to work on a Monday so they are lost. Actually, this track is not just a story of the characters in the film but of every individual be it a helper or a CEO in office. Monday morning blues are part of every corporate life,” he said.

” It is a five track music album rendered by Priya Panchal and written by Amitabh Bhattacharya. ‘Khooni Monday’ has become Monday anthem after it went viral on Youtube. He further added, “ 'Khooni Monday’ was a collective effort like ‘Babaji Ki Booti’. I believe you have to discuss with many people before the concept of the track is finalized

Khushamdeed, Slowly Slowly and I Keel Dead Peepal are few other tracks. Shreya Ghoshal, Jigar Saraiya, Talia Bentson, Arjun Kanungo, Suraj Jagan, Priya Panchal and Sachin Sanghvi have rendered the tracks in the film.“Quirky, funny as well as dark side to the tracks were really important according to the nature of the film,” added Saraiya . “We tried our best to make it dark and edgy as was the need of the film."

The film starring Saif Ali Khan, Kunal Khemu, Vir Das, Anand Tiwari and Puja Gupta is slated to release on 10 May.
