'Kya Super Kool Hai Hum' soundtracks ride on high expectations
MUMBAI: After gaining rave reviews in 24 hours for its first track Dil garden garden , the soundtracks of Ekta Kapoor’s much awaited film ‘Kya SuperKool Hai Hum’ is riding high on the listeners expectation.
The seven track music album composed by Meet Bros Anjaan and Sachin- Jjigar is an amalgamation of wolf-whistles and crass lyrics with loud foot-tapping music which is expected to act as a good filler in the narrative film.
Speaking about the album, Harmeet Singh of Meet Bros-Anjjan said, “The credit for all the songs goes to Ekta Kapoor for picking up these tracks from our list of compositions. Ekta gave us a brief that she expects the music to be completely innovative without any English or other language remixes, it should be people songs. Following the instruction we convened with director Sachin Yardi and sketched few tracks. The romantic track ‘Shirt da button’ is a complete revolutionary track and the expression of the lyrics is totally different. The songs are not gimmick meant for marketing but it’s a modern poetry meant for young generation. The lyrics penned by Kumar of Maa da laadla fame has added the much needed spark in the song through lyrics.”
The soundtrack of the album distributed by T-Series is claimed to be a clean version and total opposite to the plot of the story which is based on the sex comedy. “The tracks are completely clean and don’t boast any double meaning lyrics. The only aim of the album or composition was to entertain people of all ages.” the composer added.
Ekta Kapoor who has delivered chartbusters through her earlier films like Once upon a time in Mumbai and Dirty Pictures is looking forward to create the same magic through this album. The anxiety to continue the legacy of chartbuster was a challenging element for the composers. The album features collaborations with renowned artistes like Sonu Nigam, Vishal Dadlani, Neeraj Shridhar, Meet Bros, Daler Mehndi, Sukhwinder, Anjjan, Kailash Kher and a guest composition by Sachin-Jigar.
Ecstatic on collaborating with industries heavy weights, Singh expressed, “We were glad that we got an opportunity to collaborate with renowned musicians of the industry. And we are pleased with the fact that these top five singers had selected our project to work with. It was a blessing that they loved our songs and it was for the first time that Sukhwinder and Daler Mehndi had collaborated for a track.”
Riding high on the on-going trend of featuring the vocals of lead actors, the album also includes a track ‘ Hum Toh hain Cappuccino’ penned and sung by Ritesh Deshmukh. Commenting on Deshmukh’s vocal skills, Singh stated, “The track has Marathi verses and Ritesh being a well respected actor in Marathi community rendered for the film which turned out extremely well. Ritesh is a good singer; the song was quite a surprise for Ritesh himself, as he never realized that he was such a fine singer.”
‘Kya Super Kool Hai Hum’ is directed by Sachin Yardi and produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor. The film is a sequel to the 2005-hit, ‘Kya Kool Hai Hum’ and features Tusshar Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh, Sarah Jane Dias and Neha Sharma in the lead roles. The film is slated to release on 27 July 2012.
