Lenovo launches multimedia entertainment notebook - Y510

BANGALORE: Lenovo has unveiled its new entertainment notebook PC - the Y510 series. The notebook is equipped with features that include multimedia with access to music and movies. It also has Dolby sound system, built-in TV tuner and face recognition for locked-down security. The Lenovo Y510 introduces a dolby 4.1 home theater speaker system for enhanced sound output for movies, videos, music and games. It is loaded with four speakers and a subwoofer. The notebook`s 15-inch monitor comes with a borderless screen.

Lenovo India executive director-transaction business Anil Philip said, "The Y510 builds on Lenovo`s legacy and offers a cool PC product for someone who is looking for the right blend of home entertainment along with trendy looks. This Y510 series is engineered to be the ultimate in everything - multimedia, design, performance and security, all wrapped into one sleek package."

The Y510 also incorporates a 6-in-1 multi-card reader for downloading digital pictures from multiple types of memory cards, slot-in optical drive for ease of use and a 1.3 megapixel integrated camera. The Y510 comes with160GB SATA hard disk, 1 GB DDR2 RAM, 802.11 Wi-Fi and Vista Home Basic/Premium version. It weighs 2.77 kg and supports a battery life of up to 4 hours.

According to industry sources media campaigns are on the anvil once Lenovo has a sufficient quantity to offer in the market. At present, ad campaign is mainly across print and electronic media (TVC) - both of which commence today. Ogilvy handles the creative and media buying for Lenovo.
