MUMBAI: Madonna will be honoured with the Top Touring Artist award at the Billboard Music Awards for the worldwide success of her 2012 MDNA tour.

The top-grossing tour of the year grossed more than $305 million, roped in 2.2 million people at her 88 sold-out shows claim organizers.

Taylor Swift, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Bruno Mars, Miguel, Justin Bieber, Pitbull, Christina Aguilera, Selena Gomez, the Band Perry, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Chris Brown, Ed Sheeran, Akon, Ne-Yo, David Guetta and Icona Pop will be performing during the award function. Tracy Morgan will host the show.

The 2013 Billboard Music Awards will air on 19 May at 8 pm ET on ABC, live from Las Vegas' MGM Grand Garden Arena.

The tour MDNA is named after her 12 studio album was promoted during the concert that happened in America, Europe and the Middle East. The album topped the UK and US album charts upon its release in March 2012 and went on to ship 1.8 million copies by December.
