MTV and Lycra kick off model hunt for Style awards

MUMBAI: Lycra and MTV have kicked off their model hunt for the Lycra MTV Style Awards 2007. The event, held in Mumbai, saw Neha Dhupia and Sheetal Malhar as the judges whereas Cyrus Sahukar hosted the entire event.

The model hunt will also be held in Delhi and Bangalore on 5 October and 8 October.

The winners of the model hunt get to sashay the ramp on `My Tee`, the fourth interpretation of the Lycra MTV Style Awards 2007 theme - "It`s My Style". This line will be created by students chosen from the designer hunt. These students will be mentored by designer Vikram Phadnis, who will help them put their collection together.

MTV India VP marketing Aditya Swamy said, "Young people today are full of toxic ambition. Lycra brand and MTV are coming together to give them an opportunity to make a dream come true. Through this hunt young everyday people get to be a part of our premier fashion event, thereby reinforcing the fact that MTV is the universe of the young, for the young, by the young."`Uniforms`, `Gangs` and `Retro` are the other three interpretations of the theme, `It`s My Style` that will be showcased by Abhishek and Nandita, Vikram Phadnis and Manish Malhotra respectively.

Brand partners for the hunt are Park Avenue, Lee Cooper and Lifestyle.
