MUMBAI: MTV India is now available in the US on the DirecTV platform.

The music channel joins DirecTV`s Hindi Direct Service bouquet. Star One, Star Plus, Star News, NDTV India, Cricket Plus and DD India are already available in this package at $29.99 a month

"MTV India is now on the direct-to-home platform in the US. We are available on DirecTV," MTV India senior VP network development South Asia Sanjeev Hiremath tells Indiantelevision.com.

It is worth noting that earlier this year MTV Desi, a music channel dedicated to the Indian diaspora in the US, had shut shop after just a year on air. MTV had closed three channels targeting Asians. The others were MTV K and MTV Chi which were meant for the Chinese and Koreans in America.
