Music industry to converge at London Calling 2008

MUMBAI: London Calling, the annual gathering of businesses and senior executives from the music industry around the globe, will be held on 19 and 20 June 2008. Senior executives, artistes and allied industry representatives from over 40 countries, including USA, Japan, China, India and France are expected to participate.

The first panel discussion of the event is 'Live & Dangerous - The Live Industry View' with caliber speakers like Music Week News Editor Ben Cardew, Tixdaq COO Will Waddington, Ticketmaster Senior Director Music Services Europe Vito Laia and more. The other highlight is a question and answer session with some of the finest industry figures on piracy, copyright, culture and ISP's.

Topics like the future of mobile music, What is the value of music in the digital age, Making mobile music pay, The A&R Debate: are publishers the only real talent scouts left are some of the issues that will be taken up for discussion by the panelists during the two day event.

Speakers at the event include eminent personalities like BPI chief executive Geoff Taylor, PPL Chairman & CEO Fran Nevrkla, Mobile Entertainment Forum Chair Patrick Parodi, FRUKT MD & Founder Anthony Ackenhoff, ERA Director General Kim Bayley, Digital Music News Founder/Editor Paul Resnikoff, Bango CEO & Founder Ray Anderson among others.

London Calling's focus is deal making across music, mobile and digital with the overall theme of 360 degree business models. To ensure labels, publishers and managers meet international companies for business ventures, London Calling has designed programmes like speed dating.
