MyBand partners Livewire 2009

MUMBAI: Fast growing indie music portal Myband has joined hands with IIT's popular fest Livewire – dubbed as single largest rock competition organized by IIT Mumbai.

As Livewire 2009 goes multicity this year, talent from IIT's across India will pool in for this single largest fest. For those willing to participate, the entry process has become much more streamlined. As partners, MyBand has introduced an integrated system on their website that allows the interested bands to upload their tracks for Livewire submissions.

Till a last few years, the bands usually had to mail in their entries for such competitions, this makes the process much simpler,... says MyBand co-founder Debashis Dey. This new integration is also aimed at making things simpler for the judging panel that shortlists the bands,  If they (the judges) like a particular band, all they have to do is click – as all band info will be available at a click,.. he says.

This is not the first time that MyBand has introduced a new variant to their website. Their latest addition was the album feature that allowed bands to create online albums and also sell it as digital downloads, in addition to the MyBand internet radio that plays indie tracks across genres. The website has steadily expanded into the events space with events like MyBand nights besides co-branding and creating online properties.

UPDATE

After organizing a series of concerts in Hyderabad last month, MyBand now plans to host a â€?Showcase' concert for Delhites in November on popular demand  Stay tuned in for this space.
