New U2 album to be expected?

MUMBAI: Irish rock band U2 may soon be out with a new album. The iconic band, whose groundbreaking albums include ‘Joshua Tree’, ‘Achtung Baby’, ‘Zooropa’ could be nearing completion of a new studio album, according to the band’s fan site.
According to reports, the band members spent the day at New York's Electric Lady Studios, along with musician- producer Danger Mouse, who was completing mixing duties.
Potential title for the album have been ‘Songs of Ascent’ and ‘10 Reasons to Exist’. The new album will be a follow-up of the band’s chart topping 2009 ‘No Line on the Horizon’.
The band’s bassist Adam Clayton, in a March interview, had reportedly said the band was targeting a fall (autumn) release for the band’s new album.
"We very much want to have a record out by the end of the year, September, October, November; that kind of time. We're working with Danger Mouse, who's a smart guy. He's on it; he's excited. It's a great team and feels very liberating at the moment -- anything goes. We have an abundance of riches; we could make three or four different records and justify that to ourselves, but to make the best record you can, you have to steer away from the ones you can make easily. We're really trying to get into territory that we're not comfortable in, if that makes sense," Clayton had said.
In another recent interview, longtime producer Daniel Lanois (Joshua Tree, Achtung Baby, No Line on the Horizon) praised the new U2 songs, which Bono played for him.
"It sounded amazing, very, very big and powerful-sounding. Some of it was adventurous. There were shades of 'Achtung Baby,'" he said.
