Radio City crowns 'Suron ka Sartaj' in Pune, Ahmedabad
MUMBAI: Radio City's hunt for Suron Ka Sartaj in Ahmedabad and Pune has ended with Aanal Vasavada from Ahmedabad and Sujeet Suman from Pune being crowned as winners on 14 and 15 August respectively.
The grand finale in Pune was held in Mariplex mall by RJ Abhijeet of Whatte Fun Mornings and RJ Anjali of City Spice. The finale witnessed the five singing finalists, Jasraj, Sujeet, Sonia, Komal and Anshita performing live.
The finale was attended by Shital Chandra from The Institute of Modern Music along with renowned Indian classical singer Pratibha Karnik as judges for the talent hunt.
In Ahmedabad, the finale was held in the Gallops Mall hosted by RJ Aseem, RJ Rina, RJ Meghna and RJ Shirley. Aanal Vasavada, Sonik Suthar, Mihir Jani, Kairavi Buch and Vaishali Sen the five finalists performed live at the presence of Ahmedabad mayor Kanhaji Thakur, Lead India finalist Devang Nanavati along with Aniket Khandekar, Sameer Rawal and music director Maoulik Mehta who judged the talent hunt in Ahmedabad.
Commenting on the activity Radio City executive VP, national head - programming and marketing Rana Barua said, "Radio City has always been known to lead when it comes to music and introducing unique, innovative initiatives. As the city's melody FM station, we announced 'Radio City Suron ka Sartaaj' to give our listeners a chance to display their musical prowess. And much to our delight, we've received an outstanding response with quality entries from all across the city."
The hunt started on 19 July in Pune and 21 July in Ahmedabad. The radio station in Pune joined hands with music schools - Institute of Modern Music and Sumeru School of Music and Dance while, in Ahmedabad it joined hands with Ahmedabad's music school - Khandekars Voice Culture Academy. The event was supported by a robust hi-decibel promotional campaign comprising extensive outdoors, on-air and ground promotion.
