Rihanna snubs Gaga to become new Queen of Facebook
MUMBAI: R&B star Rihanna has surpassed Lady Gaga with over 40.5m fans to become the most popular female star on Facebook.
Famecount.com reveals that with the growing fan base by around 100,000 per day, the R&B diva might pull ahead of the current facebook leader Eminem (43m fans).
The achievement marks a spectacular year for Rihanna, who has seen her social media fame explode following the release of �Loud' last year. In May, Rihanna overtook Eminem by becoming the third most viewed star on YouTube with almost 1.4bn views. The singer remains to be the fastest growing star in world on YouTube due to controversial video �Man Down' which has racked up more than 40m views. Last week the diva also became the 13 person in history to achieve 6m twitter followers.
On an aggregated basis, according to Famecount's rankings, Rihanna is now the third biggest social media star in the world, just behind Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber.
